Yamal LNG has reached its three million tonne milestone on the 41st cargo loaded from the first LNG train since its launch in December 2017.

In July, the summer navigational period commenced on the Northern Sea Route, allowing the Yamal LNG project to ship cargos of LNG using Arc7 ice- class LNG tankers in the Eastern direction to Asian-Pacific countries without ice-breaking support, as well as utilising LNG carriers with lower ice class designation.

Yamal LNG is constructing a 16.5 mmtpa natural gas liquefaction plant utilising the hydrocarbon resources of the South-Tambeyskoye field on the Yamal peninsula located in the Arctic territory of the Russian Federation. The first LNG train commenced LNG production in the fourth quarter 2017 with the loading of the inaugural tanker on 8 December 2017.
