Açu Petróleo, a JV between Oiltanking GmbH and Prumo Logística in Porto do Açu, has announced it has signed a contract with Total to carry out crude oil ship-to-ship operations at the T-Oil maritime terminal.
The contract will serve Suezmax and VLCC vessels, as T-Oil is the only Brazilian private terminal qualified to receive VLCC vessels with a storage capacity of up to 2 million barrels.
Since starting operations in 2016, the terminal has operated a total volume of 140 million barrels of crude oil. In addition to Total, other companies such as Galp, Petrobras, Repsol, Shell and Equinor also operate at the terminal.
T-Oil has three berths with a draught of 25 metres and is operated by its subsidiary Oiltanking Açu Serviços, under a service contract for O&M services.
