The Water Jetting Association (WJA) announced its 40th anniversary online. It said: “We’re celebrating a birthday and want like-minded people to join us.”

It then added: “The WJA was launched 40 years ago, on 9 October 1980. Since then, as the trade body for the water jetting industry in the UK, we’ve worked with our members and others to champion safety, service excellence and training in all sectors where water jetting is used – including oil and gas production, petrochemicals, drainage, construction, highways maintenance, and industrial cleaning.”

It said its Codes of Practice are respected in many countries: “We feel privileged to work with international colleagues and, through our members, provide water jetting expertise and training around the world.”

It concluded by thanking its supporters: “Thank you to everyone for your support and guidance over the last four decades. There’s still much to be done, so if you’re involved in water jetting in any way, or benefit from its application, please join us or work with us to make the next 40 years of water jetting even safer, more sustainable and productive.”
