The Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Seville (APS) approved a new administrative concession for operator Sevitrade for 40 years for the occupation of an area of 20,000 square metres next to its current liquid bulk terminal.

Sevitrade plans to invest €2.1m to prepare the new plot for the movement and storage of bulk liquids, mainly oils. The first phase will see the construction of four tanks with a capacity of approximately 8,500 cbm each. It is estimated that the new facilities will be operational in the first half of 2019.

The expansion of the terminal is expected to improve competitiveness and increase of port activity, in particular, the movement of liquid bulk cargo. Similarly, it will reinforce the position of the Port of Seville as a ‘multi-tank port’ with specialised terminals, warehouses and machinery to move a wide variety of products.

The new concession is another step in the logistics development to the Cuarto dock, located to the south of the port area, has great growth potential due to the fact that it has a large operational area with maritime and land access.
