The Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC) has announced that it is terminating all activities related to the selection for the joint venture development of the Batangas LNG Hub Project.

In a letter to all interested private sector participants, the company said: “Pursuant to the recitals under PNOC Board Resolution No. 2566, S’2019, the PNOC Management has been directed to conclude and terminate all activities relating to the competitive selection for the joint venture development of the PNOC Liquefied Natural Gas Hub Project.”

It also noted that fees paid by prospective private sector participants to PNOC for the purchase of the instructions shall be returned.

Last year, the PNOC invited interested bidders to participate in the selection of it’s joint venture partner to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Batangas LNG Hub in Batangas Bay.

PNOC applied to the Department of Energy for the project to be classified as an “Energy Project of National Significance”.
