EEMUA has announced the appointment of Peter Kerkhof to its board of directors as a non-executive member director.

Kerkhof is storage tank lead for Shell, based in the Netherlands, and has been the company’s lead representative to EEMUA, as well as a member of the EEMUA council, since 2005.

The EEMUA board provides leadership for carrying out the aims and objectives of the association, primarily to help members and stakeholders worldwide to improve the safety, efficiency and compliance of some of the world’s most important industrial assets.

On his appointment, Kerkhof said: “I look forward to being part of the board of directors and contributing to the future of EEMUA where EEMUA can bring best added value to its members with respect to safe and cost effective management of their assets.

“To me this involves the preparation of guidelines (publications) and best practices, competence training of staff and enabling technical networking platforms which allow discussion with regulators”.

EEMUA chairman John Whitfield added: “I would like to congratulate Peter on his appointment. Peter has been actively involved with EEMUA for many years and it will be great to draw on his international experience to bring a fresh perspective to the board.”
