A new multi-purpose terminal is to be developed in Myanmar’s Yangon region, according to local media reports. The region’s authorities have submitted plans to establish the terminal in Kawhmu township with the aim of promoting regional development and facilitating the country’s trade with neighbouring nations.

According to local media, the plans include a port on 1,053 acres along a 2.2km waterfront with a river draft of 9 metres and a bulk liquid storage terminal.
