25.02.16. LNG vessel ‘Asia Vision’ exported the first LNG from the lower 48 states of the USA on Wednesday 24 February.
Genscape says its visual berth camera witnessed the historic moment as Asia Vision left the Sabine Pass terminal.
After commissioning at Train 1 began in October 2015, Sabine’s first train has met the long awaited milestone of LNG export from America. With Asia Vision on its way to deliver the cargo, Genscape and market sentiment believe the ship will most likely head to Brazil with Petrobras as the buyer.
The vessel arrived at Sabine’s southern berth on Sunday 21 February having been at anchor in the Gulf of Mexico along with the ‘Energy Atlantic’ for a number of weeks as the terminal’s developer Cheniere encountered delays in the commissioning and start-up of Train 1.
