22.02.16. LBC broke ground in February on additional tank capacity at its Botlek terminal.
In line with expanding its jetty capabilities, LBC is increasing storage capacity to 250,000 cbm.
The first 36,000 cbm of stainless steel tanks has started and will be operational in the first half of 2017. In addition, upgrades to the railcar and truck loading facilities will be carried out to accommodate a large range of liquid chemicals.
The terminal will be able to handle products requiring vapour treatment, mixing and blending, as well as products requiring dedicated temperature control.
LBC says the expansion matches its ambition to become “the most efficient terminal in port of Rotterdam when it comes to ship-to-shore interface and ship-turnaround times”.
