The Kuwait Downstream Summit has issued a statement announcing it has been postponed as a result of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

Due to be held April 6-7 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Kuwait, the event has now been rescheduled to December 7-8 at the same location.

The decision was made as the World Health Organisation (WHO) has now declared the corona outbreak “a global public health emergency” and countries around the world have begun enacting measures to restrict the spread of the virus.

The Kuwait Downstream Summit statement said: “Mindful of the current and evolving health crisis, and after close consultation with the event partners, we have taken the decision to postpone the Kuwait Downstream Summit.”

The summit describes itself as “considering the current energy landscape, bringing together regulatory authorities, senior stakeholders, policy makers, influencers and solution providers who are driving the energy eco-system in the region.”
