The Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal (KTMT) in North Sumatra (North Sumatra) has completed its first shipment of liquid bulk exports August 2.

The MT Ocean Integrity with Panama length 150 (LoA), 66 meters and weighing 10,459 tons brought 2,000 MT of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) to Krishnapatnam, India.

Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal (KTMT) PT Prima Multi Terminal is a subsidiary of Pelindo 1.

“Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal is currently serving bulk loading and unloading activities because it has been equipped with pipeline and storage tank facilities that are ready to be used by service users,” said Director of PT Prima Multi Terminal, Robert Sinaga.

The MT Ocean Integrity departing from Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal, whose depth reaches 15-17 meters LWS (Low Water Spring), is the first shipment of liquid bulk exports carrying CPO.

Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal has a 500×60 metre pier and is equipped with 4×8 inch pipe rack. To support the loading and unloading of liquid bulk, PT Prima Multi Terminal is collaborating with PT Prima Tangki Indonesia which is a subsidiary Pelindo 1.

PT Prima Tangki Indonesia as an anchor tenant has provided 22 storage tanks that can serve up to 1,000 tons per hour with four pipelines equipped with eight pumps. “PT Prima Tangki Indonesia provides a 100,000 MT storage tank that can be used for loading and unloading activities at the Port of Kuala Tanjung. The liquid bulk loading and unloading facility is equipped with a pump that has high speed using automation,” explained President Director of PT Prima Tangki Indonesia, Gaotama Setiawan.

“The facility has been able to be used some time ago and has obtained International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) certification from the European Commission. This international certification shows that the facilities we provide use renewable energy sources,” he explained.
