Kinder Morgan’s planned Gulf LNG Liquefaction project in Mississippi has been issued a final environmental impact statement (FEIS) by FERC staff.

Gulf LNG requested authorisation to construct and operate onshore LNG liquefaction and associated facilities to allow export of LNG. It intends to construct, own, operate, and maintain new interconnection and metering facilities for the existing Gulf LNG Pipeline in Jackson County, Mississippi.

The FERC commissioners take the staff’s recommendations into consideration when they decide on the project. Kinder Morgan has not yet made a final investment decision to build the plant.

Gulf LNG is designed to have two liquefaction trains that together will produce up to 10.8 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG.
