Hindustan Petroleum Corporation has started work on a new pipeline and storage terminal in India, according to local reports.

The storage terminal will be located in Dharmapuri and will have an initial capacity of 4.24 million tonnes per annum.

The 697km pipeline will stretch from Vijayawada in the southeast Indian state of Andhra Pradesh to Dharmapuri in Kongunadu region in the Western part of Tamil Nadu in South India.

Local media reports have said the project to cost RS 2,677 crore and is scheduled to be completed by mid-2021.
