Agidens, the Belgian system integration company, which specialises in process optimisation by means of consultancy, engineering, turnkey automated solutions and maintenance services, has appointed Hedwig Maes as new chief executive officer of the company.

As of 1 October, Maes will take over responsibilities from Geert Stienen, who the company said “indicated a couple of months ago that he wanted to pursue a new challenge outside the company”.

With Maes, Agidens said it gains “a highly experienced managing director with a profound background in the business in which Agidens operates”.

Maes studied Industrial Electronics at IHAM and Business Economics at UFSIA University in Antwerp. He is a senior executive with over 30 years of global experience in industrial automation and industrial systems, including 14 years with General Electric as senior vice president of Enterprise Solutions and 10 years with Rockwell Automation, where his last position was vice president of Global Systems & Solutions.

It added: “His strategic capabilities combined with international business experience will be an important contribution in bringing Agidens to the next level.”

John-Eric Bertrand, chairman of the board of directors at Agidens, said: “We are convinced that Hedwig, supported by our board of directors, strong management team and the commitment and professionalism of all Agidens colleagues, will ensure a successful continuation of the Agidens mission and the close partnership we have with our customers and business partners.”
