Netherlands-based Gate Terminal, a Vopak and Gasunie joint venture, has recorded eight years of operation incident free.

The terminal began operating on September 1, 2011, growing from an import terminal for LNG in the Port of Rotterdam to an internationally leading LNG hub with a wide range of services.

“A safe working environment has always been given the highest priority at Gate Terminal from the very beginning and it has paid off: eight years without any accidents. Congrats to our Gate Terminal colleagues,” stated Vopak.

The terminal consists of three storage tanks, two jetties and an environment where LNG is regasified. The functions of the LNG terminal are: supply, a buffer between supply and continuous supply of natural gas, evaporation and discharge.
