The fourth annual Med Hub Day, being organised by Port Tarragona, Spain, will be held virtually on 19-20 November 2020, and will include expert panels and speed networking for attendees.

Port Tarragona commercial director Genoveva Climent Dewitt said: “The main goal is to discuss the main strengths and opportunities that the Mediterranean Sea offers as a logistics platform for chemical products.”

The event is expected to attract 90-100 attendees, including storage terminal operators, port authorities, consignees, forwarders, market analysts and chemical and petrochemical production companies. The organisers will use Zoom to broadcast sessions.

Confirmed speakers for the event include Patrick Kulsen, managing director at Insights Global, Patrick Hore, head of sales and operations centre, chemicals/international business development, at DB CARGO BTT, and Antonio Turiel, senior researcher, Spanish High Council for Scientific Research. Kulsen will act as the event moderator.

Sessions will look at the current liquid bulk cargo situation in the Mediterranean, transformations of the energy market in the age of COVID-19, the market tanker outlook focussed on the impact of IMO 2020, rail-port intermodality, and the impact of COVID-19 on petrochemical supply chains.

The three expert panels will focus on storage terminals, ports, and chemical and petrochemical chemicals. The latter two are new for 2020, and they have been added thanks to an opinion poll conducted during the last edition of the event.

There will also be a virtual speed networking event, the first time that this has been done online. Each attendee will be able to have 6-7 meetings, each lasting 3-4 minutes.
