COUNT Terminal Rotterdam, a multi-service company that is active in the field of storage and mixing of important sustainable energy sources, together with Rotterdam engineering firm DWG started a new project: the COUNT Terminal Automation system.

COUNT had the desire to further expand their logistics activities. “In practice, this means that more work needs to be done,” says DWG. “And you know: where people work, mistakes can be made. To support the COUNT employees and to prevent errors as much as possible, we have developed an automated system together: COUNT Terminal Automation.”

With this automated system DWG has established a solid basis for the further expansion of logistics activities. The system also offers support with the registration and reporting of truck loads (weighting and weighing), internal tank transports and shiploads. This data is now automatically registered in a central database where various checks are performed. In addition, the system ensures that external systems can be flawlessly linked.

In April 2019, DWG completed the first phase of COUNT Terminal Automation. “This development process was entirely devoted to good, intensive cooperation. We have combined the logistical knowledge of the COUNT team with our knowledge of IT engineering and industrial automation . With in particular: Terminal Management systems. And that combination turned out to be worth gold!”

The COUNT Terminal Automation system is controllable from different workplaces through standard browsers. The advantage of this automated system is that the activities at the terminal can be expanded in the future in Vlaardingen (and internationally), without increasing the workload for the COUNT team.
