Empire Pipeline will now be known as Empire Midstream, in a move it said was “to better reflect the nature of its business activities”.
Empire recently broadened its portfolio of midstream businesses. In June 2020 it bought a 300,000 bbl capacity crude oil terminal in Gibson, Louisiana, from Equilon Enterprises and Shell Oil Company.
It also operates crude oil pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico, class II injection wells to dispose of flowback water for the oil and gas industry in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays, and has an operational and financial interest in TROO Clean Environmental, which provides wastewater filtration, solidification, truck washouts and brine (CaCl) blending and sales, also in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays.
Empire Midstream CEO Everard W. Marks III said: “Over the last nine months, we have made a number of targeted low-risk investments in support of our long-term plans to selectively grow our portfolio of midstream businesses.”
