The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) will now take place from 9-12 November 2020 – completely online.
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) took the decision alongside organisers dmg events, after a directive from Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism was issued, stating that large events cannot take place.
The “concentrated and abridged” virtual conference will ensure that the industry and the community can still discuss and share the learnings of the past year and address the key challenges, according to Christopher Hudson, dmg events’ Global Energy President.
Elsewhere, the ADIPEC Awards, which are in their tenth year in 2020, will be presented in an interactive virtual awards show in November 2020.
Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Chairman of ADIPEC, said: “Despite the global challenge of COVID-19, we are delighted the ADIPEC strategic and technical conferences will take place virtually this year, enabling leaders from across the oil and gas industry to come together to share ideas and connect on a range of key industry trends, challenges, and opportunities.”
ADIPEC 2021 will take place from 8-11 November 2021 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
