26.07.2016. Liquid bulk throughput at Spain’s port of Barcelona remained virtually unchanged year on year, reaching a total of 6 million tonnes.
The port’s latest results showed the one product with a significant increase was diesel fuel, up 50 percent.
During the first half of this year, Barcelona recorded net turnover of €76.1 million, up 1 percent over the same period in 2015. Net profit for the first six months was €19.1 million, marking an increase of 30 percent over the €14.7 million the previous financial year. The increase was related to a 60 percent fall in financial expenses for various reasons, such as the cancelling of a €47.5 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the fall in the interest rates applicable to the remaining EIB loans.
