Inter Terminals have released a new corporate video, showcasing a time-lapse of the company’s major tank expansion project and new multi modal facilities at the Seal Sands terminal.

A total of five new tanks have been constructed as part of a significant capital investment in additional storage capacity at the Seal Sands Terminal on England’s East Coast. The construction of the new tanks was part of a £15 million project, which required close to 2km of new onsite pipeline. This also included the refurbishment and recommissioning of two offsite link lines totalling 12km. The additional tanks have been constructed specifically for the receipt, storage and despatch of chemical products.

Two of the tanks with a total capacity of 14,314m3 were built in a newly constructed containment bund. The three other tanks with a total capacity of 13,516m3 have been constructed within an existing containment bund at the terminal. The newly constructed carbon steel tanks are partially lined and are equipped with heating facilities, vapour control systems and internal floating decks.

The tanks have also been constructed to meet Inter Terminals commitment to health, safety and the environment. All new tanks at the Seal Sands Terminal have been constructed in full compliance with the latest health, safety and environmental standards.
