After three years of joint research and development, Falcker and Maasvlakte Oil Terminal (MOT) are take their cooperation to the next level. The drone based inspection services company has announced a long-term agreement with the Rotterdam-based terminal.

Falcker’s vision and the results that already have been achieved have given MOT the confidence to use the asset condition monitoring software and services for the next seven years.

Peter Kassels, Manager Assets & Projects at MOT, said: “The development of new technologies increases rapidly and can be of great help in the process of asset management. We owe it not only to ourselves but also to the world around us to be continuous in control regarding the integrity of our ‘ageing’ assets. The recent developments Falcker initiated together with MOT and its shareholders have created the confidence required to take the next step. We will be using the coming years to gain experience and to build a database in order to improve the monitoring process of our assets.”

Thomas Schouten, Partner at Falcker, explained: “We have built up a very good relationship with the MOT and are very pleased with this collaboration. Without the patience, input of knowledge and experience, and the full cooperation of the MOT, we would never have come this far. At the same time, we strengthen the MOT in achieving their objectives. The MOT is constantly improving its availability, safety and efficiency. We contribute to this. We believe that a co-creation like this can only lead to success.”
