The third phase of Pengerang Deepwater Terminal (PDT) project in Kota Tinggi, Malaysia is set to begin this year with an investment value of RM2.5 billion.

The project, with an overall value of the three phases of RM14.5 billion, was implemented by Dialog Group Berhad and made the overall value of the three phases of RM14.5 billion.

Menteri Besar, Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin, said the third phase involved the addition of an oil storage plant that is expected to be completed within the period of five years.

“The third phase development is the connection of one and two phases where the value of the project for the third phase is RM2.5 billion. The state government welcomes this investment as it marks the success of the planning and decision of the central and state governments as well as private parties that have a far-reaching vision of turning this Pengerang area into a Marine Oil Storage Terminal,” he said after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dialog Group Berhad and the Johor state government and Johor State Secretary Inc (JSS)

Mohamed Khaled said in this investment, the state government became a 20% shareholder. He said the progress of this project would also strengthen Pengerang’s position further with the investment from Aramco and the completion of the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC).

“It will also strengthen and diversify Johor’s economy. For that reason, the state government welcomes this investment,” he said.
